Your calls show a real US or UK phone number on the recipient's caller ID, not your personal mobile. You can pick which country it comes from. The number is from a shared CallSky pool and rotates each month, so it looks like a normal call from that country.

Can I bring my Skype contacts across?

Yes. The iOS and Android apps import contacts directly from your phone. The web app accepts a CSV upload or imports from a Google Sheet. Whatever you bring in lands in your CallSky account and syncs across every device. If you exported your Skype contacts as a CSV before the shutdown, drop the file in and you're set.

I used to top up Skype Credit. How is CallSky different?

Skype Credit went inactive after 180 days and added a connection fee on top of the per-minute rate. CallSky credits don't expire, and there's no connection fee. The rate shown before the call is the full price.

How is the call quality on mobile data?

Good on a stable 4G connection or better. Your end carries the audio over data, so your link is the bottleneck. The person you're calling is on the regular phone network, so their side is whatever a normal phone call sounds like.

Can I call emergency numbers like 911 or 999?

No. CallSky cannot reach 911, 999, 112, or other local emergency numbers. The service routes calls through international carriers, not local emergency dispatch. For emergencies, use your regular mobile or a landline.

What happens to my credit if I don't use the app for a while?

Nothing. Whatever's in your balance is still there when you open the app again, whether that's next month or next year. There's no inactivity expiry and no maintenance fee.
